Well it’s that time again, the fixtures are out, and the new kit is out, the new manager is in place so all we need know is a team on the pitch.
As you know there has been a lot of negativity around VP this summer but I really think know is the time to really get behind them whoever is in charge.
Remember chairman, manager, coach it is our club and we will be there longer than any of them.
So those who are in a positive frame of mind or shall we call it blind faith that have renewed their season tickets please let me know so I can gauge the size of transport that we will be looking at next season. Hopefully the transport will run as normal with the coach / minibus starting at Preston and running to every Premier League home game.
We do intend to travel to more away games this season as well.
Membership is now open for the 20011-12 season and can be paid via PayPal on the website. This season the supporters club will have its own bank account and the account details will be sent out as soon as we receive them. This will make it easier all round for everyone.
I intend to revamp the website slightly to incorporate Face book and Twitter so any other ideas you think may benefit the club please let me know.
I also intend to hold a meeting within the next couple of weeks to discuss next season so any ideas before would be greatly appreciated.
Last season was very poor for not only the team but also the supporters club. This was due to lack of time and effort on my behalf mainly due to work and family commitments. I intend to put that right this year but I will expect support from you guys. I want to get the supporters club back to where it was a couple of years ago.
So keep your eye on our website and also the official Lions club website for details.
For those that are wondering my season ticket has been renewed. If I’m honest this probably was going to be the year where I was going to struggle to renew but as a gift for Father’s Day my wonderful wife renewed it for me. I think she must want to get rid of me at week-ends.
So this season I intend to travel to a lot more home games (hope this doesn’t put you off)
So those who require tickets / travel for the Blackburn, Wolves and Newcastle games at Villa Park and the Fulham, Everton and QPR away games names are now being taken.
So with the season approaching and the situation at the club I wonder if our new motto should be
Anticipate excitement expect disappointment and this should cover us I reckon.
I look forward to hearing / seeing you all soon in the new season.
Keep the Faith
John
